Katie Price Joins Daughter's ITV Show After Being 'Banned' in Major U-Turn
Katie Price films for Princess Andre's ITV reality show

In a significant reversal, Katie Price has begun filming for her daughter Princess Andre's ITV reality series, The Princess Diaries, after previously stating she had been prohibited from taking part.

From 'Banned' to On Screen

The former glamour model, 47, has started recording scenes for the upcoming second and third seasons of the programme. This marks her first proper appearance on the show, following her public expressions of heartbreak last year when she was not allowed to film with Princess for her 18th birthday celebrations.

At the time, Katie Price claimed on her podcast that her daughter's management team, which she said included "certain people that used to look after me," had decided it was not good for Princess to be seen with her. A source close to the production had also suggested Katie's involvement caused "a lot of drama and upset behind the scenes," with concerns about Princess feeling caught between her parents.

A Family Affair for ITV

The Princess Diaries follows the teen as she builds her own career in the entertainment industry. The show has already featured her older brother Junior, her father Peter Andre, and her stepmother, Dr Emily MacDonagh. Sources now confirm that both of Princess's parents are involved in the new series.

"Katie has been filming some scenes for the new series of The Princess Diaries," an insider revealed. "She will appear on various video calls with her daughter, like on FaceTime and stuff, so she will have a presence in the upcoming episodes."

The source added to The Sun: "It's quite the turnaround as Katie was banned from appearing last time around, but she is a huge part of Princess's life, and both Princess and Kate wanted her mum to be in the show."

Voice Note Cameo and 'Best Friends' Bond

Despite the earlier exclusion, Katie did make a brief, audio-only cameo in the first series. Princess played a voice note from her mother answering who was the naughtiest child between her and Junior. Katie responded that Princess was "more naughty," describing her as a "mummy's girl" who used to "push me more and probably get away with things."

Now, the pair are described as being "so close" and like "best friends." The show has even captured their dynamic, with Princess attempting a FaceTime call to her mother only to instantly end it. She explained to the cameras: "She had her boobs out. She's there just casually out the shower, topless. She just doesn't care. I'm like, 'Oh my God!' When she answers the phone, she's so unpredictable."

Filming for the new instalments of The Princess Diaries is currently underway, with Katie Price's involvement signalling a new chapter in her participation in her daughter's burgeoning television career.
