Former The Only Way Is Essex star Lauren Goodger has candidly discussed her reasons for joining the adult subscription platform OnlyFans, where she reportedly makes a substantial £30,000 per month. The 39-year-old reality TV personality features in the new series of Olivia Attwood's ITV2 documentary, Getting Filthy Rich, which delves into the modern sex industry.
From Magazine Covers to OnlyFans: A Calculated Move
Goodger, who joined OnlyFans five years ago, explained that the transition felt natural after a decade of posing for racy magazine covers. Speaking at the launch of Attwood's series, she told The Mirror: "It's actually not that bad - having only a few hundred fans on there, paying a higher price, I would rather that than thousands of people having access. Because it is only me showing my boobs."
She elaborated on her mindset, drawing a direct line from her past work in lads' mags to her current enterprise. "I'm not being funny, but I've been on the front of magazine covers for the last 10 years. Like on Closer mag - I was naked, anyway! They all want me naked. So, what difference does it make? I might as well make money out of it!" Despite her content, Goodger still identifies with her "girl next door" image, describing herself as "quite a home girl."
While acknowledging that other creators like Lily Phillips earn more through extreme content, Goodger admitted she "doesn't have the guts to do that."

Attwood teased that the new six-part series includes an entire episode dedicated to foot fetishism, a topic she was initially reluctant to cover. "I had six weeks of people getting their shoes off in front of me, which is for me, a personal challenge," she confessed. One segment features a man who was allegedly kicked out of the army for creating OnlyFans content and sells his used socks for hundreds of pounds.
Another episode reunites viewers with famous faces on OnlyFans, including Kerry Katona, Katie Price, and Lauren Goodger. Attwood emphasised the value of hearing their stories firsthand: "It's actually hearing their experience, first hand, their motivation for being on the site, what they're earning... and they were all so candid. It was a privilege."

The series highlights the significant financial gains some celebrities have made on the platform. Kerry Katona, who joined OnlyFans in 2020, revealed it has made her a millionaire. She disclosed making about £175,000 in her first month alone and stated, "I've made millions on it and I'll continue to do it because it's just too much money to turn down."
Meanwhile, Katie Price, who joined in 2022, framed her participation as a stand for women's autonomy. "I want to make a stand for all women... It's not all slutty... I am in full control of my whole life. OnlyFans, it's something that I was born to do," she said.
Attwood concluded that this series left her "speechless" on multiple occasions, confirming it is the most shocking to date. "I think we cover some really unusual, quirky areas, and then we go kind of deeper into areas that we've actually already covered, but in a different way," she said.
