Love Island All Stars: Scott's 'cringe' chat-up line fail with Belle and Leanne
Love Island All Stars: Scott's cringe chat-up line fail

Love Island: All Stars viewers were left squirming in their seats during Friday's episode, as contestant Scott van-der-Sluis was caught using an identical chat-up line on two different women within hours.

A recycled line causes a stir

The 25-year-old footballer, who plays as a goalkeeper for Bangor City 1876 F.C., made a dramatic entrance as the first bombshell of the series. However, his first full day in the villa was marked by a notable lack of originality in his approach.

After pulling both Belle Hassan, 27, and Leanne Amaning, 28, for separate morning chats, Scott delivered the same compliment to each: 'Wow I love your eyes.'

Fans watching at home were quick to spot the repetition, swiftly taking to social media to brand the reality star, who is making his fourth Love Island appearance, as 'cringe', a 'player', and accused him of using a 'manipulator line'.

Viewer reaction: 'I know what you are'

The audience's response was swift and merciless. One viewer tweeted: 'I can't with Scott and his line about having nice eyes! Why can't he come up with something original?!'

Another added: 'Scott using that top tier manipulators line “I love your eyes” on everyone.' The sentiment was widely echoed, with comments like 'Yuck, Scott using the same line,' and 'If I hear Scott tell another woman he like her eyes imma lose it.'

Many were convinced his tactics revealed his true intentions, with posts stating: 'Oh Scott you tell all the ladies they have lovely eyes hmmmm....gameplayer!!!' and 'Scott you PLAYA talking about the eyes once again.'

Following a fiery entrance

This chat-up line controversy comes hot on the heels of Scott's explosive entry into the villa during Thursday's launch episode. Host Maya Jama asked him to call out which couple he felt was 'no good'.

Scott immediately targeted Belle and her then-partner Sean Stone, 26, declaring that Sean 'isn't even an All Star'. He launched into a brutal tirade, telling Sean: 'Watching you on your season you were one of the worst Islanders ever,' and claimed he was 'up Joey Essex's ar**'.

The attack left Sean visibly shocked, as he revealed the pair had never spoken before. Maya Jama then delivered a further blow, revealing Sean would be leaving the villa that night.

The long-awaited All Stars series finally began on Thursday, with the public initially tasked with coupling up the twelve returning Islanders. The line-up includes former winners Millie Court and Jess Harding, alongside fan favourites like Whitney Adebayo, Ciaran Davies, and Shaq Muhammad.

The launch featured a steamy icebreaker where all contestants kissed, but the public's chosen couples—Belle and Sean, Whitney and Jack, Helena and Charlie, Jess and Tommy, Leanne and Shaq, and Millie and Ciaran—already seemed mismatched based on connections formed during the episode.
