Married At First Sight UK star Leisha Lightbody has sent fans into a frenzy by confirming a reunion special is in the works for 2026, promising it will be packed with explosive scenes. The 34-year-old dental practice manager, who married Reiss Boyce on the hit E4 series, hinted at major drama during a recent Instagram Q&A.
Reunion Confirmed Amid Post-Split Fallout
While travelling from Edinburgh to Manchester, Leisha responded directly to a fan's question about a potential reunion show. "There is indeed !! And ALOT of drama happened," she revealed. This confirmation comes after her on-screen marriage to Reiss, which saw them pledge to stay together at the final vows only to split shortly after the series concluded earlier this year.
The much-anticipated reunion is expected to air sometime in 2026, following a series that featured plenty of twists involving other couples like Grace and Ashley, and Abigail and John. Leisha admitted her time on the show was a learning curve, stating she entered the process "a bit naive" and found watching it back difficult, but ultimately healing.
Behind the Scenes of a 'Fairytale' That Faded
Reflecting on her relationship with Reiss, which was arranged by experts Paul C Brunson, Charlene Douglas, and Mel Schilling, Leisha shared her initial optimism. "When we left after final vows I genuinely thought that we were in this fairytale," she said. However, she later realised that Reiss "didn't like me as much as I thought", based on comments he made on camera that he hadn't fully expressed to her directly.
Despite cracks showing early on, the pair were one of only five couples to reach the final commitment ceremony. Leisha described a confusing dynamic, noting she was an "open book" but could never fully figure Reiss out. She emphasised that he chose to stay in the experiment despite having opportunities to leave.
Intimacy and Mixed Messages
Leisha lifted the lid on what happened off-camera, revealing a stark contrast to the portrayed tensions. "We were very intimate every single night," she disclosed, describing a routine of cosying up, watching documentaries, and sharing snacks in their apartment while other cast members went out.
She believes this physical closeness created mixed messages. "I just think when you're intimate with people every single day... that's kind of giving mixed messages," Leisha explained, recalling that Reiss would then say she was "too much" when she sought emotional reassurance or held his hand. She concluded that he likely "wasn't emotionally available."
Leisha ended by reminding fans that the televised version only showed "a quarter of what actually happened," setting the stage for a reunion that promises to reveal the full, unfiltered story. Married at First Sight UK is available to stream on Channel 4's website.
