The Apprentice 2026: 20 Candidates Vie for Lord Sugar's £250k Investment
Meet The Apprentice 2026's 20 Ambitious Candidates

The boardroom doors are set to swing open once more as The Apprentice returns for its landmark 20th series on January 29. Twenty ambitious entrepreneurs will battle it out across twelve gruelling episodes for the chance to secure a life-changing £250,000 investment from business titan Lord Alan Sugar.

Supported by his trusted aides, Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell, Lord Sugar will put the candidates through their paces in a series of high-stakes tasks. This year's challenges will see them create a children's book, sell products live on television, and organise a corporate away day in El Gouna, Egypt.

Meet The Ambitious Cohort

This year's group is one of the most diverse yet, featuring a wide array of backgrounds and business dreams. The candidates range from a 21-year-old recruitment consultant to a 46-year-old grandmother and lettings agency owner.

Andrea Cooper, 46, from Barnsley, is a mother of five and a grandmother who runs a lettings agency. She remarkably earned a first-class midwifery degree at 40 and describes herself as hardworking and resilient, but warns she is "not a pushover."

Marcus Donkoh from South London aims to scale his barbershop into a global grooming empire with sights on New York and Tokyo. He started cutting hair in his mother's home and believes in mixing business with banter.

In a tech-savvy twist, Tanmay Hingorani, an AI product consultant from Islington, plans to launch an AI-powered loyalty platform for the food and drink industry. A seasoned chess player, he believes his skills perfectly complement Lord Sugar's.

From Celebrity Clients to Global Dreams

Several candidates already boast impressive client lists and bold expansion plans. Megan Ruiter runs a bespoke womenswear brand worn by celebrities and claims her work life is "24/7."

Nikki Jetha, a mortgage broker from Hornchurch, cites Kim Kardashian as her role model and aims to revolutionise the mortgage industry after becoming a top advisor in just four years.

From Ireland, Conor Galvin wants to expand his photobooth business across major UK cities, while Georgina Newton, an actress from East London, plans to launch a touring pantomime company using a converted lorry as a mobile theatre.

The series promises drama, innovation, and fierce competition as these twenty hopefuls strive to prove they have what it takes to become Lord Sugar's next business partner. All episodes will be available on BBC iPlayer and broadcast on BBC One from January 29.
