In a major coup for the reality TV show, world-famous supermodel Rachel Hunter has been confirmed as a contestant for the upcoming season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia.
Jungle Line-Up Takes Shape
The New Zealand-born model, 56, will be heading into the South African jungle when the series, hosted by Robert Irwin and Julia Morris, premieres on Channel Ten this Sunday at 7pm. The network announced the exciting news on Sunday morning, revealing Hunter as the third celebrity name for the 2026 season.
She will be competing alongside retired AFL star Dyson Heppell, 33, and former NRL player turned reality TV personality Luke Bateman, 30.
From Cover Girl to Jungle Queen
Rachel Hunter rose to international fame in the 1990s as a glamorous cover girl, gracing the pages of iconic publications like Sports Illustrated and Vogue. Her personal life also captivated the public, notably her marriage to legendary British rock singer Rod Stewart from 1990 to 2006, with whom she shares two children, Renee and Liam.
Beyond modelling, Hunter built a successful career in Hollywood, with appearances in popular US sitcoms such as Mad About You and The Drew Carey Show. She is no stranger to reality television either, having previously competed on Dancing With The Stars US in 2005 and served as a guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars in 2012.
Fellow Contestant's Charity Mission
Her fellow jungle campmate, Luke Bateman, confirmed his participation last week. The former Canberra Raiders NRL star and The Bachelor contestant stated he is entering the show to win the $100,000 prize money for his chosen charity, Farm Angels.
"I'll be going into the jungle representing my charity, Farm Angels, which is a charity very close to my heart. They do amazing work in my community," Bateman told his Instagram followers. He added that he is braced for the show's infamous trials, saying, "I'm sure there'll be some delectable food items and some fear-instilling trials. I can't wait."
The new season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia promises a fresh set of challenges for its celebrity contestants, with the action moving from the Australian outback to the African jungle for this highly anticipated run.
