Former The Traitors finalist Andrew Jenkins has exclusively revealed the brutal power move he believes the current traitors must make to survive, describing a fan favourite as the perfect "sacrificial lamb".
The Brutal Strategy for Survival
Speaking after a dramatic cliffhanger in the latest episode, Andrew analysed the precarious position of traitors Rachel and Stephen. He insists the pair have been handed a golden opportunity to buy themselves more time in the hit BBC contest.
Andrew, who was pipped to the jackpot at the final hurdle in his series, told us the key is to use a new recruit as a shield. "When it comes to bringing someone in and recruiting them, you have to use them as a sacrificial lamb," he explained. This is the devastating fate he predicts for contestant Matthew, who attempted to strike a future allegiance with the traitors.
"As we saw with the cliffhanger of the last episode, I think they should recruit so they are able to throw someone under the bus to take the heat off them for a while," Andrew stated. "It will buy them more time. It’s very brutal."
Andrew's Own Game Regrets
Reflecting on his own experience in the Scottish castle, Andrew admitted his biggest mistake was not plotting against fellow finalist Harry sooner. He revealed he had no concrete game plan upon entering but learned a harsh lesson in timing.
"I should have started plotting against Harry sooner and talking to other people in the castle, like Molly," he confessed. "Molly was 50/50 with Harry and I. At the end, she even wrote his name down."
He shared a close bond with the then 21-year-old, who called him "dad", and believes he could have swayed her vote. "I think if I'd have spoken to Molly a few days before, I feel I could have swayed her to go for Harry... I’d have definitely started planting seeds earlier."
Andrew's strategy was ultimately scuppered by fellow contestant Ross at a critical roundtable. "Ross messed up my chances at the roundtable. That's what my fellow contestants told me; they all said they didn't really suspect me until Ross went mad at the roundtable and changed his vote to me."
He humorously added, "He cost me £95,000, really, but I'm not bitter about it at all."
The Reality Behind the Scenes
Andrew also addressed persistent viewer speculation, firmly reiterating that the high-stakes show is completely unscripted. "I like the fact that everything you see on television is real," he said. "Nothing is scripted. They don't tell you what to do, what to say, so it's real."
He expressed surprise at the sheer scale of the production, which films at Ardross Castle. "[I was surprised at] how big the production is; it's absolutely massive. How many cameramen, sound people, runners, the production is huge, and there are so many people working behind the scenes."
He praised the crew's relentless work ethic, revealing they had just a one-week break before the American version started filming in the same location. "They work silly hours, and they work so, so hard. They're away from their families for months and months on end... I’ve got so much respect for the people who work on the production."
Andrew was speaking on behalf of Buzz Bingo on 14 January 2026.
