Vogue Williams reveals I'm A Celebrity's toughest challenge: 'So much harder than it looks'
Vogue Williams' I'm A Celebrity confession on jungle hardship

Irish model and media personality Vogue Williams has given a candid insight into her recent stint on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, confessing that the reality of jungle life was far tougher than viewers see on screen.

The Reality Behind the Jungle Glamour

Williams, 40, entered the ITV show as a late arrival alongside Tom Read Wilson. She managed to last 13 days in the Australian camp before becoming the third celebrity to be voted out by the public. Speaking on the popular Sh***ed, Married, Annoyed podcast hosted by Chris and Rosie Ramsey, Williams admitted she had underestimated the challenge.

"I didn't speak to anyone before going in," she revealed. "[It's] so much harder than it looks on tv. Like, it's wild." She even referenced her husband, Spencer Matthews, who had read articles suggesting the show wasn't being hard enough on contestants. "I was like, 'what?'" she exclaimed, emphasising the disconnect between perception and reality.

Life Without Time and Tuneless Troubles

Williams highlighted several specific hardships, from coping with meagre rations to the camp's incessant singing. "I'm a really bad singer. I'm not a good dancer. So I found that bit a little bit hard," she confessed. However, the most confusing aspect for all the campmates was the complete loss of any time reference.

"We tried to work out the time because you don't know what time it is," Williams explained. "They never tell you what time it is and no one's allowed to talk to you, like the security aren't allowed to talk to you when you leave the camp." The celebrities were left to their own devices to decipher the hour, often relying on the production crew's movements.

Their main clue came from the live broadcast. "They would start waking us up because we worked out that the show was on at 7," she said. "So, you'd hear them shouting 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' and then you'd kind of work it out from that." The campmates typically believed it was around 5.30am when they were roused.

Friendships Forged and a New King Crowned

Despite the trials, Williams reflected positively on the experience, stating it was "a lot of fun" and that she had made good friends, mentioning she was texting fellow contestant Ruby Wax the morning of the podcast recording. She also said she loved the constant company, never spending a single second alone in camp.

The series was ultimately won by YouTube star AngryGinge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle. The 24-year-old was crowned King of the Jungle, greeted on the iconic bridge by his ecstatic mother, Michelle, who had raised him as a single parent.

Williams's revelations peel back the curtain on one of Britain's most beloved reality shows, confirming that the mental challenge of isolation and disorientation is just as demanding as the famous Bushtucker Trials.
