Andrew's Lonely Ride as Eugenie Cuts Contact and Pest Control Visits New Home
Andrew seen riding near Windsor after Eugenie cuts contact

The disgraced former Duke of York, Prince Andrew, has been seen on a solitary horse ride near Windsor Castle, presenting a forlorn figure just a day after reports emerged that his youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, has cut all contact with him.

A Glum Outing Amid Family Estrangement

Andrew was spotted arriving at Windsor Castle by car on Tuesday, 19th January 2026, before heading out on horseback with a groom. The former prince, who was stripped of his military affiliations and royal patronages in 2019 and his HRH style and dukedom in October 2025, appeared downcast during the ride. He was, however, later seen laughing and pointing as he navigated his horse around manure on the ground.

This public appearance follows devastating claims of a familial rift. It is understood that Princess Eugenie, 35, has completely severed communication with her father and did not visit him with her own family over the Christmas period. A source described the estrangement to the Mail on Sunday as being at "Brooklyn Beckham level", indicating a total cutoff.

Final Days at Royal Lodge and a New Norfolk Home

The Windsor outing coincides with Andrew's final days living at the 30-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor Great Park. He was forced to give up the lease on the property after King Charles III officially removed his titles due to "serious lapses" in judgment concerning his association with the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Removals vans have already been seen at Royal Lodge, with Andrew reportedly given a deadline of the coming weekend to vacate. His expected new residence is believed to be Marsh Farm in the village of Wolferton, Norfolk. Renovation work has been underway at the property, with Sky engineers recently spotted installing television and internet services.

Intriguingly, on the same day as Andrew's ride, a van from Command Pest Control was seen entering Marsh Farm. The company specialises in eradicating pests such as rats, mice, squirrels, and wasp nests, suggesting final preparations are being made for the former duke's arrival.

A Divided Family and an Uncertain Future

The reported estrangement has left Andrew "devastated". While both his daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, joined the wider Royal Family at Sandringham for Christmas, Andrew spent the holiday alone at Royal Lodge. Sources indicate that Princess Beatrice is attempting to maintain a delicate balance by not cutting off her father while remaining close to the institution, but Eugenie is not attempting such a compromise.

Andrew will not be joined at Marsh Farm by his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York. Fergie, who had been living with him at Royal Lodge despite their 1996 divorce, is reportedly looking at properties in the Windsor area or considering moving closer to one of their daughters. The future for the former Duke of York appears increasingly isolated, both geographically and within his own family, as he prepares for life in his reduced Norfolk retreat.
