Prince Harry's ex Catherine Ommanney arrested in Majorca over £434 hotel bill
Harry's ex arrested in Majorca over hotel bill

A former girlfriend of Prince Harry has been detained by police on the Spanish island of Majorca following allegations she left a hotel without settling a substantial bill.

Arrest at Santa Ponsa Hotel

Catherine Ommanney, a 53-year-old reality television personality and interior designer, was arrested on suspicion of fraud on the afternoon of January 11, 2026. The arrest came after the manager of the three-star Playas del Rey Hotel in the Santa Ponsa resort, near Magaluf, reported the incident to local authorities that same morning.

Police sources confirmed that Ommanney is accused of failing to pay for a nine-day stay, with the total bill exceeding €500, which is approximately £434. According to reports from the island's Ultima Hora newspaper, she had reserved her stay using a card that allegedly had insufficient funds.

Court Appearance and Release on Bail

The American-born star, who was one of the original cast members on The Real Housewives of D.C., was taken before an investigating judge in Palma, the capital of Majorca, later that evening. The hearing was conducted behind closed doors.

Ommanney was pictured leaving a court cell around 7pm, escorted by a Civil Guard officer. Following the hearing, she was released on bail pending the outcome of an ongoing investigation. It remains unclear whether she offered any formal explanation or testimony in court, and she made no comment to the press upon her release.

Past Revelations About Royal Romance

This incident brings the former model back into the spotlight, following her own revelations about a past relationship with Prince Harry. In November 2022, Ommanney publicly discussed a two-month fling she claims to have had with the Prince in 2006, when he was 21 and she was 34.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, she described Harry as a "great kisser" and a "total gentleman," claiming she nicknamed him 'baby' due to his habit of sucking on lollipops. Ommanney, a mother-of-three, suggested their brief relationship ended after a few meetings, though they remained "friendly" when they met again in 2009.

At the time of revealing the affair, she was reported to be based in Majorca. The latest arrest adds a controversial chapter to her story, shifting focus from royal reminiscences to alleged criminal proceedings in her current place of residence.
