Meghan Markle is said to be “furious” over Prince Harry’s latest royal drama to the point of “no return,” according to sources. The Duke of Sussex returned to the UK this week amid confusion over his accommodation and whether his family would join him.
Buckingham Palace Accommodation Row
King Charles’s son initially declined an invitation to stay at a royal residence on Saturday but then made a U-turn and requested to stay for just one night at Buckingham Palace. He was told he had accepted the King’s offer too late. Sources also said his presence could compromise his father’s constitutional position, with judgment due in the duke’s High Court case against Associated Newspapers on Tuesday.
A source told journalist Rob Shuter on his Substack: “This was one insult too many. Meghan feels they’ve bent over backwards for Harry’s family, only to be embarrassed again. As far as she’s concerned, she’ll never see them again.”
Meghan’s Warning Ignored
Another source said that Harry “kept changing his mind” before the Palace simply said “forget it,” which is allegedly what the duchess had warned him about. A source added: “Meghan warned Harry this would happen. She believes every time he reaches out to his family, they find another way to reject him. She’s done. She has no interest in ever putting herself—or her children—through this again.”
The Duchess of Sussex was expected to join her husband on the five-day trip to Britain; however, it was announced at the eleventh hour that she wouldn’t be travelling with him, at least in London, due to security fears.
No Hope for Reconciliation
Now, sources claim the latest drama has sealed the deal on any reconciliation between Meghan and the royals. One source said, “Any hope of rebuilding trust has just disappeared. For Meghan, there’s simply no coming back from this.” It is still unclear if she will join him in other parts of the UK later this week.
