Amy Walsh has made her temporary exit from Emmerdale, with her character Tracy Metcalfe leaving the village in emotional scenes that aired on Friday. The actress, who has played Tracy for eight years, is currently on maternity leave after welcoming her first child in December with partner Toby-Alexander Smith, known for playing EastEnders villain Gray Atkins.
In the storyline, Tracy revealed earlier in the week that she had been offered a job in Nottingham and planned to take it, meaning she would leave the village with her daughter Frankie. Her ex Nate Robinson and sister Vanessa Woodfield were initially upset but eventually supported her decision.
At the end of Friday's episode, Tracy said goodbye to Nate, Vanessa, Faith Dingle, and Eric Pollard before getting into a taxi and leaving. The departure is believed to be temporary, with Walsh expected to return to the role in the future, though no return date has been confirmed.
Fans took to social media to express their sadness, with one writing: 'Gutted that Tracy is leaving actress has just had a baby hope she returns soon.' Another added: 'A really lovely exit for Tracy tonight. All the best @amywalsh27!'
