Coronation Street Star Teases Sarah Platt Confession Consequences

Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has confirmed that Sarah Platt will confess to killing Theo Silverton, but not to the police, and has teased that there will be 'consequences' for her actions.

Sarah's confession to Todd

In an appearance on This Morning on Wednesday, June 24, O'Brien revealed that Sarah will admit the truth to Todd in the upcoming episode airing on Thursday, June 25. The confession comes after Todd presses Sarah during a tense confrontation, asking her to 'swear on their little boy's life'—a son they tragically lost at birth 21 years ago.

O'Brien explained: 'I think she would give anything to be able to tell him, but I think because of his job and the situation, she really feels she has to try and keep him out of it. So I think she's very torn. And I also think it's going to be interesting how Todd deals with that information because, of course, she let Summer go down for it so I think there's going to be consequences.'

Dramatic dinner party reveal

As regular viewers know, Sarah was uncovered as Theo's killer during dramatic scenes aired on Monday, June 22. The episode centered around a dinner party hosted by Sarah's partner, DC Kit Green, where tensions escalated as Maria Windass accused her husband of having an affair with Sarah. Flashback scenes revealed the truth about Theo's death and Sarah's role in it.

The flashbacks showed Sarah receiving a suspicious text from Todd's phone and heading to the flat he had shared with Theo. There, she was confronted by the drunken builder on scaffolding. Theo taunted Sarah, bringing up the son she and Todd had lost 21 years earlier. When he threatened violence, Sarah grabbed a metal pipe and struck him on the head, causing him to fall to his death. She then called Gary to help her cover up the crime.

What's next for Sarah?

O'Brien teased that the storyline will continue to unfold over the coming weeks and months. 'At the moment, there is no idea to the characters within the show that it is Sarah. The audience knows, but the characters don't, so over the next couple of weeks, and maybe even months, things are definitely going to get a bit twisty and turny when things get found out... or don't, maybe. Who knows!'

With Sarah's confession to Todd imminent, fans are left wondering how he will react and whether the truth will eventually come out to the police—and what consequences Sarah will face for letting Summer take the blame.
