Coronation Street detectives believe they are closer to uncovering the truth about Theo Silverton's killer this week, as a new suspect emerges and it is not Gary Windass. A cryptic spoiler for the upcoming episodes reveals that someone is acting suspiciously, and Detective Lisa Swain is convinced that the individual is hiding something.
Kit Green Focuses on Gary Windass
Kit Green remains certain that Gary is the culprit after deleted evidence left fans puzzled. However, later in the week, something else solidifies Gary as the prime suspect for both Kit and Lisa. Despite this, it is Todd Grimshaw who leaves Lisa wondering if he has a guilty secret he is guarding.
This week, Todd is in the Rovers when he casts a dagger at Kit and Lisa amid their investigations. Following some tough questioning and George Shuttleworth's recent arrest, it is understandable that Todd is not pleased. Lisa senses there is more to it, interpreting his animosity as guilt. So, does this subtle clue reveal Todd as Theo's killer, and is Lisa close to the truth?
Red Herrings and Suspicious Behavior
Todd has been named a suspect but has not been fully accused yet. Other suspects have faced questions, with more inquiries on the way. Spoilers suggest that Gary is the killer, leading fans to suspect this is a major red herring. Todd is not helping his case, as his alibi is proven fake by Lisa and Kit, who agree it does not hold up. The police soon start gathering potential evidence as they head to the builders yard.
This includes some scaffolding poles, which could have been the murder weapon and might hint at the killer's identity. The deleted footage also comes back into play, as Lisa and Kit appear to know it exists but cannot trace it. As Lisa tells Kit that they are back to square one in their search for Theo’s killer, Kit insists he knows who is guilty. Kit makes it clear to Gary that he remains his number one suspect.
Summer Spellman's Potential Involvement
Then there is Summer Spellman, who is clearly spiraling. She was the last person seen with Theo onscreen before his death, yet she has not told anyone about their confrontation. When scenes reveal that she has been offered a place at an American university, Todd insists that she must accept the offer as it will do her good to start afresh. But could this be an escape for Summer after possibly killing someone?
Coronation Street airs weeknights at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITV X.
