Netflix's 'Heartbreak High' has concluded its third and final series, leaving fans with the long-awaited revelation of Malakai's letter to Amerie. The letter, which was destroyed in a school fire at the end of Series 2, was never read aloud on screen, but viewers have pieced together its contents from a brief scene in the second series.
The letter, written by Malakai (Thomas Weatherall) before he moved to Geneva, confesses his true feelings for Amerie (Ayesha Madon). It reads: 'Thank you for being my first love... still loving me even when I f****d up. Sometimes I think we just met each other at the wrong time.' He adds: 'I wish we could have made things work out. Maybe it would have been better if we met at 30 or 60 or even 80 in a nursing home.'
In the final series, Amerie discovers the letter's contents and initially rejects Malakai, focusing on her new romance with Noah (Ioane Sa'ula). However, in the series finale, the pair reconcile and pledge to give their relationship another chance, bringing closure to their unfinished romance.
