Heidi Range, former member of the Sugababes, made a surprise appearance at the Mighty Hoopla festival in London this weekend, marking her first stage performance in 15 years. The 43-year-old singer joined Nicole and Natalie Appleton, performing as Appleton, to sing the Sugababes hit 'Round Round' alongside All Saints classics like 'Pure Shores'.
Fans expressed their delight on social media, with one writing: 'Heidi Range X Appleton - the girlband we didn’t know we needed!' Another demanded: 'We NEED you back on stage.' A third commented: 'Sugababes should have her back as a foursome, it feels so negative without her.'
Heidi shared a video of herself in a green glitter jumpsuit walking onto the stage, captioning it: 'Walking out to join Appleton @nicoleappleton @nicappleton and a crowd full of love in the sunshine @mightyhoopla.' She described the experience as a 'Pinch Me' moment and revealed that the invitation came from Natalie Appleton via text earlier this year.
Heidi left the Sugababes in 2011 when the fourth line-up went on hiatus. Since then, she has focused on songwriting, TV, and musical theatre, appearing on shows like Dancing on Ice and Celebrity Masterchef. She also became an ambassador for the NSPCC and stepped back from the limelight to raise her two daughters.
Despite fan demand for a Sugababes reunion, Heidi has ruled out performing with the current original line-up again. In 2023, she told The Mirror: 'I don't know, I'd never say never. I don't know if that's likely to happen.' She also dismissed the possibility of solo material.
