Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Joe Sugg has spoken out about the unexpected pregnancy announcement he and his partner Dianne Buswell were forced to make, suggesting a similar 'annoying' reason may have prompted Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman to reveal their exit from the show.
In a YouTube video posted on 27 October, Sugg and Buswell discussed their pregnancy news, which they shared on Instagram in September. The couple revealed they were expecting their first child together with a video showing them painting a picture of stick figures representing themselves and a baby.
Sugg explained that they were 'rushed' into making the announcement after receiving an email from a source claiming to have reliable information about the pregnancy. 'We had to announce it slightly rushed,' he said. 'And I don't know if it's the same reason why Claudia and Tess had to rush their news out - if it was then it's very annoying.'
The email, sent on a Friday, informed them that the news would be revealed to the public on Sunday. Sugg and Buswell, who had planned to tell their family that weekend, had to accelerate their timeline to share the news with fans before it broke elsewhere.
Similarly, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure from Strictly Come Dancing via a joint Instagram video, stating they would leave together at the end of the current series. They expressed gratitude to the BBC and the show's team, saying they would 'cry when we say the last keep dancing'.
