Had one too many in the pub garden last night? What better remedy than kicking back on the sofa, getting a takeout and watching some properly good telly? Netflix's June release slate features titles we can't wait to get stuck into. From a gritty MJ documentary to a new Harlan Coben thriller – and, of course, plenty of World Cup-adjacent content – here's everything to stream this month.

Michael Jackson: The Verdict

Release date: 3rd June. This three-part documentary explores the part of Michael Jackson’s legacy the recent biopic left out. In 2003, Jackson was charged with multiple counts of child molestation, setting off both a media firestorm and courtroom drama that captivated millions. Michael Jackson: The Verdict revisits the case, featuring key individuals – accusers and defenders alike – who were pivotal in the legal saga.

The Murder of Rachel Nickell

Release date: 4th June. In 1992, a young mother was killed in broad daylight on London’s Wimbledon Common – and her two-year-old toddler was the sole witness. This gripping documentary from BAFTA-nominated director Lucy Bowden examines the notorious, years-long investigation that followed, using exclusive archive footage, first-hand accounts from family members and insights from forensic experts. It’s released on the same day as The Witness, which tells the story of how Alex and André Hanscombe – the son and husband of Rachel – moved through the aftermath of this unimaginable tragedy.

USA 94: Brazil’s Return to Glory

Release date: 7th June. Netflix is fully leaning into World Cup fever, with plenty of exclusive sports programmes running alongside video versions of Gary Lineker’s hugely popular The Rest is Football podcast. This feature-length documentary revisits Brazil’s journey to victory at the 1994 tournament, and features interviews and never-before-seen footage shot by the players themselves. Basically, it’s a must-watch for footie fans.

I Will Find You

Release date: 18th June. Is there anything better than a Harlan Coben thriller? The newest eight-episode series is I Will Find You, and stars Sam Worthington as David Burroughs, a man who’s wrongfully serving a life sentence for murdering his son. But when Worthington gets word his son may actually be alive, he embarks on a truth-finding mission that leads him out of a prison, and into a world of deceit and despair. Mark your diary: you’re going to want to binge this all in one.

The American Experiment

Release date: 24th June. History and politics buffs, listen up. As the USA approaches its 250th anniversary, this new five-part documentary reexamines the improbable achievement that was the nation’s founding, and the radical question at the center of the revolution: Can a people govern themselves? Featuring an extraordinary range of voices including former vice presidents and cabinet officials, current and former members of Congress, a former Supreme Court justice, leading historians, tribal chiefs, military experts, it’s a timely discussion on the past, present and future of American democracy.

Little Brother

Release date: 26th June. Fancy a good giggle? This new comedy with John Cena and Eric André is just the ticket. Cena plays a famous real estate agent, whose carefully curated world is upended when his eccentric ‘little brother’ (André) reappears in his life. Expect chaos of all kinds, from a kitchen going up in smoke to an accident-prone André breaking almost every bone in his body.
