A new crime drama from the creator of Power has stormed into the number two spot on Netflix UK's TV chart, despite receiving a lukewarm audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
Nemesis, created by Courtney A. Kemp and Tani Marole, follows an LAPD cop and a criminal mastermind locked in a tense cat-and-mouse game after a daring heist in Los Angeles. The series stars Matthew Law as Lieutenant Isaiah Stiles and Y'lan Noel as Coltrane Wilder.
Released on 14th May, the eight-part series has quickly gained popularity among UK viewers, outperforming hit thriller Man on Fire and true crime documentaries such as Should I Marry a Murderer? in this week's charts.
Despite a Rotten Tomatoes audience score of just 49 percent, critics have awarded it an impressive 90 percent rating. Fans have taken to social media to praise the show, with one viewer saying: 'Kept me engaged and not sure whose side I was on. Binge watched twice. I need season 2.'
Co-creator Marole has revealed that he and Kemp 'have an arc in mind' for a second season, but Netflix has not yet confirmed a renewal. 'We need the numbers to go up so we can get a renewal,' Marole told Decider.
