Strictly Come Dancing has been embroiled in a fresh 'fix' row after viewers expressed outrage over the elimination of Chris Robshaw and Nadiya Bychkova, while drag queen La Voix received a disastrous score for her Cha Cha Cha. The BBC show is also set to lose presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman at the end of the year.
La Voix's performance alongside Aljaz Skorjanec on Saturday left judges unimpressed, scoring just 14 points and landing at the bottom of the leaderboard. Judge Shirley Ballas remarked she 'can't judge' the routine, sparking further controversy. Despite the low score, some viewers have called for La Voix to stay due to her on-screen banter with Tess Daly.
Former professional dancer Brendan Cole, who appeared on the show from 2004 to 2018, criticised this year's competition. Speaking to Express.co.uk on behalf of Sky Vegas, he said: 'The whole competition this year feels a bit all over the place. Everyone's bringing something different – like La Voix, who did a terrible Cha Cha. It was entertaining, but technically awful.'
Cole also questioned why Balvinder Sopal repeatedly ends up in the dance-off, noting that her Paso Doble was 'quite good' and that 'there are definitely weaker dancers in the competition.' He added: 'It's hard to call who ends up in the bottom because the marks don't always reflect the quality. In the end, viewers just vote for who they like.'
