EastEnders delivered a dramatic Christmas Day cliffhanger as Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) confronted Anthony Trueman (Nicholas Bailey) over his lies about her twins. The confrontation turned deadly, leaving Anthony dead and Zoe unconscious.
The Moons' community Christmas dinner was interrupted when Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) revealed that Anthony had lied about the twins' death. He had claimed both children died in hospital, but in reality, he found them first and kept them from Zoe to tarnish her character.
Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) confronted Anthony and ordered him out, supported by his father Patrick (Rudolph Walker), who expressed disgust. Anthony later clashed with Zoe at The Vic, where she accused him of sending a Christmas card from her 'son'. The argument turned physical, with Anthony's head hitting a door frame and Zoe being slammed into a bannister, knocking her unconscious.
Meanwhile, outside, Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) encountered Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf), claiming she was only back for a stroll down memory lane. Kat found Zoe on the floor and Anthony dead, setting up further drama for the 90-minute continuation.
