Devil Wears Prada Musical Marks First Anniversary with Star-Studded Gala
Devil Wears Prada Musical Celebrates First Anniversary

The glittering world of high fashion and theatre collided on Thursday night as The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical celebrated its first anniversary in London's West End. A host of celebrities descended on the Dominion Theatre for a special gala performance, turning the red carpet into a runway that would have impressed the show's formidable editor, Miranda Priestley.

Stars Shine in Show-Stopping Style

Leading the glamour was broadcaster and musician Myleene Klass, who commanded attention in a chic white mini dress paired with a cropped black blazer. She completed the sophisticated look with matching black platform heels, posing confidently for photographers. Not to be outdone, actress and singer Claire Sweeney made a dazzling entrance in a figure-hugging, sequin-adorned red gown with a plunging neckline, showcasing her famous curves.

They were joined by a roster of other famous faces, including Emmerdale star Bradley Riches and broadcaster Cherry Healey, who also opted for a stylish white mini dress, accessorised with clear perspex heels and a matching bag.

A Musical Success Story

With music by the legendary Sir Elton John, the stage adaptation of the iconic film and novel opened to audiences at the Dominion Theatre last year. The production features Vanessa Williams in the starring role of the intimidating Runway magazine editor, Miranda Priestley. The show has proven to be a major hit, with its run in London extended until September 2026. Vanessa Williams is confirmed to remain in the pivotal role until April of next year.

Klass Addresses Recent Controversy

The anniversary celebrations come after a public apology was issued to Myleene Klass by reality TV personality Katie Price. Last month, Price had questioned why Klass was awarded an MBE, suggesting it was for "playing the classical piano" and criticising the TV industry as "corrupt."

However, on a recent episode of her podcast, Price offered a "sincere apology" after learning that Klass's honour was actually awarded for her significant campaigning work raising awareness for miscarriages and women's health. Price, who has herself experienced pregnancy loss, stated she "commends" Klass for her efforts and admitted she was wrong to comment without knowing the facts.

The successful first year and bright future of The Devil Wears Prada: The Musical demonstrates the enduring appeal of its story, ensuring that the sharp click of stilettos will continue to echo through the Dominion Theatre for years to come.
