Newlyweds Adam and Holly Ramsay Peaty have escaped the UK for their honeymoon, just two days after a lavish wedding ceremony overshadowed by a very public and painful family estrangement.
A Lavish Wedding Marred by Absence
The couple, who tied the knot at the historic Bath Abbey on Saturday, were spotted leaving Gordon Ramsay's home on Monday afternoon, laden with luggage en route to the airport. Their departure follows a weekend where both changed their social media names to Ramsay Peaty, signalling a unified future. However, the joyous occasion was deeply affected by the absence of the groom's parents, Caroline and Mark Peaty, who were uninvited from the nuptials.
The rift, which has been building for months, became starkly evident when Adam's mother was excluded from Holly's hen party at Soho Farmhouse last month—an event attended by the bride's mother, Tana Ramsay, and VIP guests like Victoria Beckham. The situation culminated in the Peaty family, aside from Adam's sister Bethany who served as a bridesmaid, being barred from the wedding entirely.
Gordon Ramsay's 'Cruel Dig' Sparks Outrage
The tension reportedly boiled over during the father-of-the-bride speech by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, 59. According to reports, Ramsay told his daughter Holly she looked beautiful and informed Adam he was a 'lucky man', adding: 'Look at Tana and that's what you have to look forward to.' He then allegedly made a pointed remark, saying to Holly: 'Shame you don't have the same.'
A family source told the Daily Mail that Caroline Peaty is 'outraged' and 'hurt' by the comments, believing they were a 'pre-planned' and 'cruel dig' intended to paint her as a bad mother. 'By him saying Tana will be a good mum to them both makes Caroline sound like a bad mum,' the source said.
In contrast, Adam's own speech notably omitted any mention of his parents. Instead, he emotionally praised his swim coach, Mel Marshall, describing her as his 'everything' and saying he saw her 'like a mum'.
Heartbreak and Harsh Words from Staffordshire
While the wedding party celebrated at the Georgian Kin House manor, Adam's mother Caroline remained at the family's modest home in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. She described feeling as if Holly and Adam had 'cut my heart out'. On the day of the wedding, she received support from other excluded relatives, including Adam's great-aunt Janet, who said: 'I can't believe he's done this to his mother who's done so much for him from an early age.'
In a devastating final act before the ceremony, Adam's aunt Louise sent him a text message reading: 'I hope you never suffer the depth of pain you have put your mother through... Remember on this, your happiest day... that you hurt your mum so deeply her soul screams.'
The wedding itself was a high-security, star-studded affair. Guests, including David and Victoria Beckham, wore mandatory wristbands. The bride's dress remained concealed until she was inside the abbey, and the bridesmaids—including Holly's sisters and Adam's sister Bethany—wore red dresses by Victoria Beckham. The roots of the feud are traced back to September 2024, when wider Peaty family members were snubbed for the engagement party.
As Adam and Holly begin their married life away from the drama, the fallout continues. The wedding is expected to feature in an upcoming Netflix documentary on the Ramsay family, which may offer Caroline Peaty her first proper glimpse of the day she was forbidden to attend.
