Foo Fighters Fans Leave Queue at Anfield as Temperatures Soar

Foo Fighters fans are leaving their spots in the line outside Anfield Stadium ahead of tonight's show as temperatures soar in Liverpool. The American band will perform the first of two highly anticipated shows at the home of Liverpool FC today, Thursday, June 25, followed by a second show on Saturday, June 27.

Queues Form Early but Heat Forces Fans to Seek Shade

Queues have formed since 8.30am this morning, but as the day has progressed and the temperature has risen, many fans are opting to go elsewhere. The amber weather warning began at midnight on Wednesday, June 24 and is in place until 11.59pm on Thursday, June 25.

Liverpool FC initially shared hot weather advice but has made several changes to their guidance ahead of today's show to ensure fans have a safe and memorable experience. Outside the stadium, free water bottles are being given away and sunscreen stations are available. The club also advised fans to avoid heading to Anfield early due to limited shade.

Fans Share Their Experiences

Despite these measures, some fans are still struggling with the heat. Student Luka Caveney-Pulak, 19, from Nottingham, is attending the show with his mum. They arrived a short while ago but have already left the queue to sit in the shade, taking turns because they cannot bear standing in the direct sun. He said: "It's just too hot. We didn't want to get here too soon and sit in it, and we're in L1 anyway, so it wasn't far. We're doing shifts to sit in the shade. I'll have 20 minutes, then we swap." Luka previously saw the band in Birmingham and described them as "boss".

Reegan Spencer, 26, from Plymouth, has been in the shade since arriving several hours ago. He said "fair enough" if people want to stand in the sun but he and his group have no interest.

Die-Hard Fans Brave the Heat

However, some fans are braving the weather. Fiancés Samantha Elicott-Roberts, 52, and Andy Birch, 47, from Chester, arrived at 11am and describe themselves as die-hard Foo Fighters fans who never miss an opportunity to see the band. Samantha first saw Foo Fighters before they hit the mainstream at Download Festival and has since seen them six more times. Andy's first-ever Foo Fighters concert was with Samantha, and the pair say they've been inseparable ever since.

The couple met on Facebook Dating two and a half years ago and bonded over their shared love of music. Their wedding plans even feature the band: Samantha will walk down the aisle to a piano version of Times Like These, while Walk will be played after they sign the register — a song they say reflects their journey of overcoming hardships and finding each other.
