Three-Legged Rescue Dog Mabel Seeks Loving Home After Surviving Egyptian Streets
Three-Legged Rescue Dog Mabel Seeks Loving UK Home

An affectionate six-year-old crossbreed dog named Mabel is facing heartbreaking difficulties finding a permanent home in the United Kingdom, solely because she is missing one of her front legs. The adorable canine endured unimaginable suffering on the streets of Egypt before her rescue, where a traumatic car accident led to the necessary amputation of her injured limb.

A Survivor with a Heart Full of Love

Mabel has since learned to navigate life on three legs, demonstrating remarkable resilience and an endlessly gentle temperament. Her rescuer from Miracle’s Mission, the charity currently caring for her, provided a glowing character assessment. "She really is the sweetest dog you could ever meet," the statement emphasised. "She absolutely loves people and makes friends instantly, greeting everyone with a gentle heart and a wagging tail."

The charity further described Mabel as wonderfully sociable with other dogs, exhibiting a playful, kind, and easygoing nature. Her profound need for affection is a central part of her personality. "She adores cuddles and is incredibly affectionate. She just wants to be close, to feel safe and to be loved," they noted, concluding that her gentle disposition makes her "the perfect dog for any family."

The Search for a Suitable Home

Mabel is spayed, weighs approximately 23kg, and is available for adoption anywhere across the UK through Miracle’s Mission. The primary requirement is a committed owner capable of meeting both her emotional and physical needs as a tripod dog. The charity's official statement clearly outlines: "Type of home needed - A loving home happy to adopt a dog with three legs."

Initial tests indicate she was nervous but not aggressive around cats, suggesting careful introductions would be necessary. The organisation has shared her story on social media, where an outpouring of supportive comments has failed to translate into a concrete adoption offer.

Public Reaction and Shared Experiences

On the charity's Facebook post, one user expressed their affection, writing, "Oh, you are a lovely, beautiful puppy. Come over here, you beautiful puppy." Another comment reflected a common dilemma: "Just a beautiful dog... Had I not got two big dogs already, I would. The fact she’s a tripaw is not a problem, but I can't manage walking three dogs together."

Other animal lovers shared positive experiences with disabled rescues. One individual noted, "My three-legged Melek from Macedonia is the biggest joy in my life. They do adapt and get on and just want to be happy. I also bet Mabel is a fast runner. These dogs are simply incredible."

The Mission Behind the Charity

Miracle’s Mission, founded in 2015, works tirelessly to provide safety for animals in peril, promote educational campaigns on the critical need for neutering both pets and strays, and actively neuter stray dogs and cats to prevent more animals being born into hardship on the streets.

The charity derives its name from a puppy named Miracle, who was rescued at just one week old from the streets of Borneo. Found with severe health issues alongside her siblings, who sadly did not survive, Miracle made a "miraculous recovery" and now lives happily with other rescued dogs. Her story symbolises the charity's goal: "Her aim is to help save many more animals in need around the world." The organisation acknowledges that, unlike Miracle, not every rescued animal is fortunate enough to find a spoilt, loving forever home.

Prospective adopters interested in offering Mabel, or any other dog under the charity's care, a new beginning are encouraged to contact Miracle’s Mission via email at info@miraclesmission.org.
