DWP's £150 disability payment: Who qualifies?

The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that over six million disabled Britons will receive an extra £150 payment this summer to help with rising living costs.

Who is eligible for the £150 disability payment?

The one-off payment will be automatically paid to those receiving:

  • Disability Living Allowance
  • Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
  • Attendance Allowance
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment
  • Constant Attendance Allowance
  • War Pension Mobility Supplement

When will payments arrive?

Most eligible claimants can expect to receive the money between 20 June and 4 July 2024. The payment will appear in bank accounts marked "DWP COL" along with the claimant's National Insurance number.

Why is this payment being made?

This forms part of the government's £104 billion cost of living support package for 2023-2024. Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride stated: "We're standing by the most vulnerable in society by providing this extra financial support during challenging economic times."

Additional support available

Many recipients may also qualify for:

  1. The £900 means-tested cost of living payment (paid in three instalments)
  2. The £150-£300 pensioner cost of living payment
  3. The £300 winter fuel payment
