During a recent episode of the Bussin' With The Boys podcast, former NFL linebacker Will Compton, 36, revealed that a benign cyst on his cerebellum is not a cause for concern. Speaking with comedian Nate Bargatze, Compton explained how he discovered the cyst while undergoing MRIs as a free agent.
The Discovery
Compton told Bargatze, 'I was apparently born with a cyst in my cerebellum. Learned this throughout free agency. They found it on cervical spine MRIs and they found this white mass.' He added that the cyst has been monitored over the years and has grown, prompting a contrast MRI to check for any developments.
Comedian's Reaction
When Compton offered to share more details off air, Bargatze politely declined, saying, 'Ahh, no, I think I'm good,' sparking laughter from Compton and co-host Taylor Lewan.
Assurance from the Team
The podcast's social media team confirmed Compton is okay, noting in an on-screen graphic that 'he's okay' when sharing a clip on X. Lewan initially feared the worst after receiving MRI images from Compton, but was relieved to learn there were no issues.
Long-Term Outlook
While the cyst is not currently a threat, it requires lifelong monitoring. According to studies from the National Institute of Health, a cyst that compresses the cerebellum could affect motor control and balance.
