Reality television star Gemma Collins has made a joyous double announcement, confirming she will both marry her fiancé and welcome a baby in 2026. The 44-year-old, famed for her role on The Only Way Is Essex, shared the news as she celebrated the New Year in London.
A Glamorous Announcement on New Year's Eve
Collins, who has been engaged to businessman Rami Hawash since 2024, took to Instagram from the luxurious The Ned hotel in London. She posted a series of glamorous snaps from the evening, which she spent with friends including DJ Fat Tony. In her caption, she penned a heartfelt message to her followers.
"The most fantastic NYE with our faves it was the final drink of champagne as I have a wedding to plan !! yes I’m getting married this year and YES I'm having a baby," she wrote. The star, who is already a stepmother to Rami's seven-year-old son Tristan, looked elated in the photos.
A Long and Candid Journey to Motherhood
This announcement marks a significant and hard-won milestone for Collins, who has been incredibly open about her difficult fertility struggles. She has previously shared that she has suffered multiple miscarriages, including three heartbreaking losses. One occurred in 2012, another during the Covid pandemic in 2020, and a third later that same year with a previous partner.
Medically, Gemma faces challenges including a low AMH hormone level, which indicates a limited egg reserve, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). These factors led the couple to explore alternative paths to parenthood, including surrogacy and fostering.
"I've been through a lot," Collins has said in past interviews, referencing being advised to terminate a pregnancy involving an intersex baby. Her mother's own experience of being fostered also inspired her to consider that route to building a family.
Triple Wedding Extravaganza and Health Updates
In true 'GC' style, the upcoming nuptials promise to be a spectacular affair. The couple have revealed plans for three separate wedding ceremonies: a main event in the UK, a second abroad, and a formal gathering for close family and friends. Naturally, this means multiple wedding dresses for the bride.
Alongside her family planning, Collins has been vocal about her health and weight loss journey. She has been using the drug Mounjaro, having lost around 3.5 stone and dropping from a size 26 to a 20. She temporarily paused the injections after suffering a painful gallbladder attack in August 2023 but has since resumed with a microdosing strategy to manage side effects.
"I've lost about 3½st and kept it off. I just feel good," she stated recently, clarifying that her goal is health rather than being "stick thin." Her ultimate aim is to lose a total of 6 stone from her original weight.
With her wedding to plan and a baby on the way, 2026 is set to be a landmark year for Gemma Collins, closing a chapter of personal challenge and opening an exciting new one filled with celebration.
