Model Mia Winward-Dunn has revealed she is expecting her first child, but the 20-year-old is facing the milestone without her parents, Emmerdale star Sammy Winward and ex-footballer David Dunn, by her side.
A Pregnancy Announcement Shrouded in Secrecy
Mia Winward-Dunn shared her baby news this week, confirming she is set to become a mother later this year. However, the announcement comes with a significant caveat: she has not yet informed her parents. The model has been estranged from them for two years following their intense disapproval of her career on the adult content platform OnlyFans.
She described the occasion as 'bittersweet' due to the family rift, telling The Sun she feels 'emotionally vulnerable' during her pregnancy and wishes to avoid a 'big, stressful situation'. Mia admitted she hasn't reached out and her parents 'don’t really know how to contact me'.
Mystery Man and a New Chapter
Weeks before the pregnancy reveal, Mia had offered a cryptic glimpse into her personal life. On January 1, she posted cosy snaps on Facebook showing her kissing a partner, though in every image his face was noticeably hidden. The post, captioned '2025 beginning to end, 2026 here we come!!', also featured a telling clue: a photo of personalised socks embroidered with the words 'Mommy, Daddy and Mini'.
While celebrating her impending motherhood, Mia confirmed she has now quit OnlyFans. She stated she does not regret her time on the site, which at its peak earned her £100,000 a month and funded a new house in Mexico, but she is ready for a new chapter.
A Fractured Family and Hopes for Healing
The root of the estrangement lies in her parents' reaction to her OnlyFans work. Mia recalled her father David calling her a 'w***e' and slamming the phone down when he found out. She also views her mother Sammy's stance as hypocritical, given Sammy posed for lads' magazines in her youth.
Despite the painful history, Mia expressed a strong desire to reconcile. 'Now that I have my own baby inside me, I just couldn’t imagine not speaking to my child,' she said. She is willing to apologise for her past decisions if her parents will also apologise, and definitely wants them in her baby's life. She wistfully added she would love to go baby clothes shopping with her mother.
This marks a shift from claims she made last June, where she said she felt 'emotionally neglected' as a child, sometimes seeing her mother for only '10 minutes a day' due to her Emmerdale schedule. Mia, who was predominantly raised by her grandmother, said she felt 'lonely and controlled'.
For now, the father of Mia's unborn child remains a mystery, and the path to healing with her famous family is fraught with unresolved hurt. However, the expectant model has signalled she is ready to begin the difficult process of forgiveness.
