Girls Aloud singer Nicola Roberts has offered fans a heartfelt look back at her milestone 40th birthday party, a private celebration that coincided with the life-changing discovery that she was expecting her first child.
A Milestone Month of Celebrations
The pop star, who turned 40 in October, finally shared photos from the intimate dinner held with her 'closest family and friends'. The guest list included her fellow Girls Aloud bandmates, Cheryl, 42, and Kimberley Walsh, 44. Roberts explained that the period was a 'whirlwind', as within two weeks she had begun her first West End lead role, learned of her pregnancy, and celebrated her 40th birthday.
She admitted that dealing with 'almighty nausea' in early pregnancy meant she never got around to posting about the birthday at the time. 'It was a whirlwind and I was barely able to acknowledge to myself my milestone birthday,' she wrote on social media.
Intimate Party Details and Fashion Moments
The singer dazzled in a red satin Victoria Beckham dress, the same design recently worn by Holly Ramsay's bridesmaids. Cheryl chose a plunging black gown, while Kimberley opted for a deep red dress with a keyhole detail. Photos from the evening showed Nicola posing with bouquets of roses, cosying up to her fiancé Mitch Hahn, and beaming alongside her loved ones.
'It will forever be my favourite thing to have everyone I love in the one room,' she gushed, reflecting on the celebration. 'This year has validated for me more than ever that you’re on your own timeline. Don’t let anyone rush you.'
Spring Due Date and Joyful Announcement
Roberts formally announced her pregnancy on Christmas Day, revealing she was five months along and due to give birth in the spring. She and former footballer Mitch Hahn, 37, became engaged during a trip to the south of France in July 2024.
In a recent update, she cradled her bump and thanked fans for their support, writing: 'It's lovely to relate and be part of the pregnant lady/mummy to be community.' Celebrity friends including Rochelle Humes and Jessie Ware flooded her posts with congratulatory messages.
The singer's last public relationship ended in 2013, and she previously endured a distressing four-year stalking campaign from an ex-boyfriend, who was later jailed for sending death threats to her and others.
