Perrie Edwards Shares Joyful Christmas Bump Snaps After Heartbreaking Miscarriages
Perrie Edwards' Christmas Joy After Miscarriage Heartbreak

Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards has shared a series of radiant Christmas photographs, proudly cradling her baby bump while celebrating the festive season at home with her family.

A Content and Blessed Festive Day

The 32-year-old star, who is nearing her due date, spent the day in matching loungewear with her fiancé, footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and their four-year-old son, Axel. She described feeling overwhelmingly "content and blessed" after a relaxed day filled with excitement, food, and Christmas magic.

In a heartfelt social media caption, Perrie penned: "Merry Christmas everyone! Excitement pumping through the family, amazing food, Christmas magic on repeat, house is now a pigsty, overstimulated, stayed in pj’s all day." She humorously added, "Axels hair is a birds nest, I’m the size of a beach whale, can’t consume any more chocolate if I tried, need fork lifting off the sofa… but my goodness I feel content and blessed."

A Journey of Heartbreak and Hope

The couple first announced their joyful pregnancy news in a sweet Instagram post in September 2024. In the announcement, Perrie gave a nod to her new single, 'If He Wanted To He Would', by featuring its lyrics on a T-shirt before turning to reveal her blossoming bump.

This happy news follows a period of profound difficulty for the singer. Perrie recently opened up on Paul C Brunson's 'We Need To Talk' podcast about experiencing two heartbreaking miscarriages before welcoming her son Axel.

She revealed her first miscarriage occurred very early in her first pregnancy. "I remember finding out I was pregnant. Obviously, I started bleeding not long after, and I went to the hospital... they were like, 'There's no baby,'" she shared, recalling being alone at the appointments.

Her second loss was even more devastating, occurring at around 22 weeks, a year after Axel's birth. Perrie discovered she was pregnant while rehearsing for Little Mix's final tour in 2022. The 20-week scan, which actually took place at 22 weeks, turned into "the worst day of my life." She described an out-of-body experience, knowing instantly something was wrong.

Embracing Motherhood and Future Happiness

Perrie welcomed her "rainbow baby" Axel on August 21, 2021. She admitted her subsequent pregnancy with him was filled with anxiety initially, as she just wanted to get past the 12-week milestone. However, she ultimately described it as "complete bliss."

The singer, who shot to fame on The X Factor in 2011, has been in a relationship with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain since 2016. The couple got engaged in 2022 and are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of their second child.

Her story has resonated with many, highlighting the complex mix of joy, anxiety, and gratitude that can follow pregnancy loss. For support regarding miscarriage, visit www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk or call 01924 200 799.
