Scarlett Moffatt on 'soul-destroying' miscarriage and decision to have no more children
Scarlett Moffatt rules out more children after miscarriage

TV personality Scarlett Moffatt has revealed she will not be having any more children following a devastating miscarriage she described as "soul-destroying".

The Heartbreaking Decision

The former Gogglebox star, 35, explained that she and her partner Scott Dobinson were overjoyed to discover they were expecting a second child. Their son Jude was born in June 2023. However, the pregnancy sadly ended in miscarriage, leading the couple to a painful conclusion.

"I was lying in bed with Scott one day, and I said: ‘I just don’t think I can handle the heartbreak any more. I think we should stop. We’ve got Jude, so let’s enjoy him,’" Scarlett told The Sun. She added that the experience led to mourning "the loss of that and the life you imagined."

This heartbreak was compounded by her previous struggle to conceive Jude, which took "three and a bit years" of effort. The cumulative emotional toll has made her and Dobinson decide their family is complete.

A Triumph on the Dance Floor

Scarlett's candid admission comes fresh from a career highlight: winning the 2025 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special. She triumphed alongside professional dancer Vito Coppola, scoring a perfect 40 for their Cha Cha to Cher's DJ Play A Christmas Song.

"This is honestly the greatest gift that could have ever happened at Christmas," she said of her win. The victory was particularly sweet as Scarlett has a deep history with dance, having been crowned British Ballroom Champion at age 16 and training under Strictly judge Anton Du Beke.

She acknowledged that her past competitive experience likely ruled her out of the main TV series, making the Christmas special a "true bucket-list moment." The show reignited her passion, with Scarlett vowing to continue dancing.

Looking to the Future

For now, Scarlett Moffatt's focus is firmly on her present blessings: her young son Jude and her fiancé Scott. While the pain of her miscarriage remains, she is choosing to channel her energy into the joy her existing family brings and her revitalised love for performance.

The Christmas special also featured performances from comedian Babatunde Aléshé, singer Brian McFadden, Gladiators star Jodie Ounsley, All Saints singer Melanie Blatt, and EastEnders actor Nicholas Bailey.
