Carol Vorderman Reveals 'Hellish' Year Amid Secret Health Battle

Carol Vorderman has opened up about a secret health battle, describing the past year as 'hellish'. The former Countdown star, who stepped down from her Sunday radio show in October 2024 following a health scare, disclosed that she has been 'very poorly' but is now recovering.

Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine ahead of the Pride of Britain Awards 2025, Vorderman said: 'This year has been a bit hellish health wise. I've been very poorly, not related to the burnout but something entirely different. I'm on the right medications now, but it's only in the last month or so that I felt I've got my mojo back. So watch out, world.'

The 64-year-old mother of two credited her close friends for helping her through the tough times, enjoying mini-breaks and holidays. She said: 'I've had lots of mini-breaks and holidays with friends... Going back and seeing old friends has been wonderful. And the right friends, too. I think I've managed to drop all the bad ones.'

Vorderman also reiterated her preference for a non-monogamous dating life, having been single for 15 years. She explained: 'My brain never stops, and my capacity for adventure is huge. So, I don't ever want to ask someone else again for permission to do something. It's just not my nature.'
