Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus Battles Stage 4 Blood Cancer

Blink-182 bassist Mark Hoppus has revealed he is fighting stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a blood-related cancer. The 49-year-old musician shared his diagnosis during a Twitch Q&A, explaining that the cancer has entered four parts of his body, classifying it as Stage 4-A.

Hoppus is currently undergoing chemotherapy and awaiting results to determine if the treatment is working. If successful, he will need at least three more rounds; if not, he may require a bone marrow transplant. Despite the challenges, he remains optimistic, stating, 'We’re beating this cancer. It’s just a matter of time.'

The singer described side effects including 'chemo brain,' fatigue, nausea, and hair loss. He has drawn strength from his mother Kerry, a three-time cancer survivor who beat the same lymphoma. Hoppus lives in Beverly Hills with his wife Skye and their son Jack.
