Gogglebox star Sid Siddiqui has voiced his frustration with the NHS after struggling to secure a GP appointment. The 75-year-old, who appears on the Channel 4 show alongside his sons Baasit and Umar, took to Twitter to share his experience.
Siddiqui revealed that he waited one hour and 55 minutes in a telephone queue at his GP surgery, only to be told there were no appointments left for the day. He was advised to try again the following morning at 8am.
The retired engineer's comments drew a wave of support from fans, with many sharing similar frustrations. One respondent, Jessica, thanked him for making the issue public, while another, Bob, described the situation as 'utterly unacceptable and dangerous'.
Siddiqui's criticism comes as the NHS faces ongoing pressures, including increased doctor-patient ratios and a shortage of GPs, particularly in rural areas. The Siddiqui family have been fan favourites on Gogglebox since the show launched in 2013.
