Social media star and Dancing With The Stars runner-up Alix Earle turned a New Jersey hospital room into a stage last week, performing a spontaneous dance to boost her mother's spirits following a major operation.
A Daughter's Heartfelt Support
Earle's mother, Alisa Maniaci, had just undergone surgery for breast cancer at an undisclosed medical facility. In response, the 25-year-old content creator decided a dose of 'bedside entertainment' was in order. Her 22-year-old sister, Ashtin, captured the entire 25-second impromptu routine on TikTok last Wednesday.
The clip shows Earle making use of the limited space at the foot of her mother's hospital bed. With a New York Knicks basketball game playing on the television in the background, Earle performed high kicks and playful dance moves, shaking her booty and executing rigid arm movements purely for her family's amusement, needing no music of her own.
A Message of Strength and Love
On Sunday, Earle shared a montage from the hospital visit to Instagram, which included tender moments of her affectionately playing with her mother's hair and holding her hand. She accompanied the post with a powerful caption: 'Go momma! So proud and inspired by you. [There's] no challenge you can't face and come back stronger. I love you! #breastcancerawareness.'
The video's voiceover reinforced this message of resilience, stating: 'Strong women never give up. We might need a coffee. We might need a good cry. We might need a day in bed. But we will always come back stronger.'
A Private Battle During Public Life
Earle first learned of her mother's diagnosis while she was competing on season 34 of the ABC reality TV competition Dancing With The Stars. She chose to keep the health update private at the time, just as she did not publicly discuss her impending split from Houston Texans wide receiver Braxton Berrios after two years of long-distance dating.
Her former professional dance partner on the show, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, showed his support on her recent post, commenting with heart emojis and the words 'Mama Earle.' Earle has admitted that the ordeal has led to 'a few cries' with her mother, who divorced Earle's father, TJ Earle, in 2013.
The influencer, who boasts 8.2 million TikTok followers and 5.4 million on Instagram, last made headlines for canoodling with retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady at a New Year's Eve party. A successful entrepreneur, Earle reportedly earns $450,000 per paid partnership post for major brands and first rose to viral fame in the summer of 2022 for posting about her severe acne.
