Coronation Street star Samia Longchambon has revealed how she maintains her fitness in her 40s, after fans inquired about her youthful appearance. The Eccles-born actress, who plays Maria Windass on the ITV soap, shared a video of her at-home Pilates session on Instagram, accompanied by her dog Ralph.
At-Home Workout Routine
In her post, Longchambon explained that she prefers working out at home rather than the gym. Her routine includes 2-3 treadmill runs of 5 kilometers per week, along with three yoga or Pilates sessions. She uses online instructors, following @movewithnicole for Pilates and @adrienelouise for yoga.
“I don’t love going to the gym so all my workouts are done at home… usually with my furry PT at my side,” she wrote. She also noted that her husband, @slongchambon, is a personal trainer, but she chooses to train alone to preserve their marriage.
Mental Health Benefits
Longchambon emphasized the mental health benefits of her routine, stating, “I find that keeping active not only helps my body but it calms my mind.. especially the yoga, and I genuinely miss it and notice the change in my mood when I don’t do anything for a few days!” She has been open about her battle with anxiety in the past.
Fan Reactions
Fans responded positively to her post. @1macey said, “Love this,” while @xjeankellyx commented, “Love how realistic and balanced your routine is. And Ralf is definitely the cutest workout buddy!” @rick1278 wrote, “Looking good on it as well …well done.” @fooey7 replied, “It looks good on you.” @jamesdarlington1 posted, “You look absolutely stunning. I saw you at the Manchester Arena 22-23 years ago. You haven’t aged much at all.” @aprillouise1975 added, “You are such an inspiration @samia_longchambon and you look fantastic.”
