Health Risks

Salmonella infections typically cause symptoms such as diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps within 12 to 72 hours of consuming contaminated food. These symptoms usually last four to seven days and resolve without treatment. However, the FDA warns that salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems.
