59-Year-Old Fitness Enthusiast Reveals Three Myths He Ignored to Look Decades Younger

A 59-year-old fitness enthusiast has revealed the three fitness myths he ignored to achieve a youthful appearance, often being mistaken for someone in their 30s. Edson Brandao, a Brazilian author of the book 'Young After 40: The Definitive Guide to Stay Younger and Healthier,' shared his insights with his 751,000 Instagram followers.

Brandao stated that he was told his body would slow down after 40, his metabolism would give up, and his best years would be behind him. He dismissed these as lies, claiming that at 59 he has more energy than he did at 39. 'My body is leaner. My mind is sharper. My sleep is deeper. I wake up excited, not aching,' he said.

He credits his transformation to a diet rich in brain-boosting foods like pumpkin seeds and blueberries, mitochondria-supporting beetroot, hormone-fueling salmon, avocado, and eggs, and gut-protecting ginger and garlic. He also incorporates metabolism-boosting cinnamon, green tea, and olive oil, and sleep-enhancing kiwi, along with natural testosterone supporters like Brazil nuts and eggs.

Brandao emphasised consistency over perfection, saying he eats smart, not less. He also highlighted the importance of moving the body and maintaining a positive mindset. 'It's never too late to rewrite your story. Your future self is begging you to begin,' he added.
