Jo Wood's Health Secrets at 70: Mushroom Powders, Fasting & Farmers' Markets
Jo Wood reveals her wellness secrets at 70

Jo Wood, the former model and wellness guru, has detailed the strict regimen that keeps her healthy and trim at the age of 70. The ex-wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood credits a combination of unusual supplements, disciplined eating windows, and a commitment to organic, fresh produce for her vitality.

From Rock 'n' Roll Wife to Wellness Guru

Jo Wood, who was married to the legendary rocker for 24 years until their split in 2008, was once known for embracing the party lifestyle. During her marriage, she often accompanied Ronnie on tour, helping to manage his diet and curb his excesses. Now, she has channelled that energy into her own health philosophy, maintaining a completely organic diet for several years.

The Daily Routine: Powders, Fasting and Simple Fare

Her day begins with a matcha or decaf latte, blended with one of her favoured mushroom and herb powders. She listed Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail, Astragalus, He Shou Wu, Maca and Reishi as her top choices. Adhering to a form of intermittent fasting, she told Closer magazine: ‘I usually wait until midday to eat.’

Her first meal is deliberately simple, often consisting of mashed banana on organic bread with olive oil and cinnamon, or kefir with honey and banana. For dinner, she opts for ‘something clean and fresh’, with wild-caught cod and a crisp cucumber sandwich being a firm favourite. She occasionally allows herself half a bar of Green & Black’s chocolate as an after-dinner treat.

Shopping Habits and Health Philosophy

A key pillar of her approach is avoiding supermarkets. She sources most ingredients from online farmers' market Wylde Market and vegetable box scheme Riverford, with only occasional trips to Waitrose. ‘I try to stay away from supermarkets as much as possible,’ she stated.

Her commitment to an unprocessed diet was solidified after being diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease in 2005. Following advice from a herbalist, she cut out processed foods to manage her symptoms. She has also been an outspoken critic of weight loss jabs, believing they are ‘not a good idea’ for middle-aged women.

Jo Wood, who launched an organic cosmetics brand in 2005 and now runs an interior design business, has rebuilt her life since her high-profile divorce. Ronnie Wood left her in 2008 for a younger woman and has since remarried. Jo has had relationships since, including with chef Jameson Stocks, but has been single since 2023. Through it all, her disciplined wellness routine has remained a constant, proving her focus on health and organic living is a deeply personal and enduring choice.
