Supermodel Jordan Barrett is charting a new course beyond the fashion runways, dedicating his energy to burgeoning business ventures and personal well-being. The 29-year-old Australian catwalk star, originally from Byron Bay, is developing lines of skincare, clothing, and accessories while also exploring opportunities in art and film. In a recent interview with the Daily Telegraph, Barrett emphasized that maintaining mental and physical health has become his top priority.
A Shift in Priorities
'Health is everything,' Barrett stated. 'If you don't have health, what is next? I was always taught that as a child.' His wellness journey includes marathon training and cold plunge therapy, alongside spending considerable time outdoors and prioritizing family and loved ones. 'I always come back to nature. I really grew up in nature,' he said, adding, 'Family is your centre and your core.'
Addressing Concerns Over Appearance
Barrett's renewed focus on health follows public concern over his gaunt appearance during 2023 London Fashion Week. At the time, he explained his weight loss was due to training for a marathon. In an Instagram post, he announced his participation in the Vienna Marathon to raise funds for LDA Les Disparus Anonymes, an organization dedicated to recovering missing children. 'Countdown, Vienna marathon, 60 Days. This time I'll be running to raise funds for LDA Les Disparus Anonymes,' he captioned training photos.
Early Career and Personal Life
Discovered at age 13 in a Gold Coast grocery store by scout Kirk Blake of What Model Management, Barrett recalled the moment in a 2013 interview: 'I was scouted in my local grocery store on the Gold Coast by a man named Kirk Blake, who has been in the industry for years.' He later told New York magazine he was attempting to steal matches for a cigarette at the time. The US-based model has been romantically linked to several socialites, including Paris Hilton, Hailey Baldwin, Sofia Richie, Megan Blake Irwin, Lara Stone, and Sahara Ray.
