A daily magnesium supplement costing around 44p has been praised by shoppers as 'life-changing', with many reporting significantly improved sleep and increased energy. New Nordic's Magic Magnesium Glycinate tablets, priced at £39.99 for a 180-tablet tub, work out at roughly 44p a day with a subscription discount.
Magnesium is involved in over 300 biological processes, including regulating brain activity, mood, heart rhythm, and blood pressure. IBS specialist dietitian Kirsten Jackson told the BBC it is 'especially important for our brain and mood'. The recommended daily intake is 270mg for women and 300mg for men, but many people fall short.
Each dose of the supplement provides 240mg of elemental magnesium, along with vitamins B and D and a herbal extract. It uses magnesium bisglycinate, which is known for good absorption. One five-star reviewer said: 'Struggled to sleep for over 20 years, taking these has been life-changing.'
The product is part of New Nordic's wider magnesium range, which includes citrate, malate, and taurate forms, as well as gummies and shots. It will also be available in Boots stores later this month. Alternative standalone magnesium supplements are available from Heights and Healf.
