Zara Larsson has revealed that she is scrapping songs recorded with Ariana Grande and Ed Sheeran that were intended for her upcoming album. The 22-year-old singer decided she does not want any collaborations on the record, including a track about anxiety featuring Ariana Grande.
Speaking to The Sun, Larsson said: 'I don't know if I'll put it on the album, it's not on there right now.' She explained that the song was a 'gang vocal' and you could not distinctly hear Grande, apologising to the pop star's fans for her decision.
Detailing the song's theme, she said: 'It's a really good song about not feeling your best, being anxious and wishing you were someone else sometimes.' Larsson added that she recorded so many songs with Ed Sheeran that 'the universe wouldn't be able to hear them all', but hinted they might be released in the future.
The Swedish pop star also admitted she has discarded an album's worth of songs in recent years. Her latest single, 'Love Me Land', was released on Friday.
Larsson recently split from her long-term boyfriend, Brian Whittaker, after a two-year relationship. A source told The Sun: 'The split has been very upsetting for both Zara and Brian but the relationship had run its course.'
