British Hacker Gary McKinnon Reveals Alleged UFO Discovery During NASA Breach

Gary McKinnon, the British computer hacker accused of perpetrating what has been called the "biggest military computer hack of all time," has publicly recounted his alleged discovery of an unexplained image while accessing NASA's systems. McKinnon, who breached 97 U.S. government sites in 2002, shared his story on the American Alchemy podcast with host Jesse Michels, stepping out from years of relative obscurity.

The Search for Suppressed Technology

McKinnon has long maintained that his motivation was not to find evidence of extraterrestrial life, but rather to uncover suppressed energy or propulsion technology that could benefit humanity. "What I was interested in was the energy and the propulsion," he explained during the interview. He believed that secret advancements might exist to alleviate global energy poverty, describing the possibility as "too juicy not to have a go at finding."

His hacking activities began in March 2001 when, living in London, he scanned vast ranges of IP addresses for government computers with minimal security. "If you cast far enough a wide net, you know, something's going to come in," he remarked. Astonishingly, he found that some highly sensitive systems had no password protection at all.

The Alleged UFO Image Discovery

McKinnon claims that during his infiltration of NASA's Johnson Space Center, specifically targeting Building 8, he encountered a high-resolution image that left him stunned. Using a 56k dial-up connection, he described watching the image render slowly, line by line. "There's like blackness, then there's like slowly a hemisphere started appearing, and I'm thinking that's a planet," he recalled.

As more detail loaded, he observed what he believed was Earth, followed by a distinct object. "And then suddenly there's a big, straight kind of silvery line, cigar-shaped object," McKinnon said. He described the craft as white or silvery, with a smooth exterior lacking visible seams, bolts, or propulsion systems. "This thing looked very smooth on the outside. There were no lines… no screws and bolts and stuff," he noted.

Abrupt Disconnection and Further Findings

Moments after viewing the image, McKinnon's access was abruptly terminated. "I see the mouse move… someone else is at the computer themselves," he stated. "They right-clicked, disconnected and boom, that was it. I was cut out." He also claims to have discovered a spreadsheet labeled "non-terrestrial officers," suggesting the individuals listed were not based on Earth, though he maintains uncertainty about whether the object was extraterrestrial or secret human technology.

McKinnon's interest in unexplained phenomena dates to childhood, inspired by family stories and a personal sighting at age 12. "I saw this kind of reddish orange glowing light, and it was moving in an arc from there to the horizon," he recounted. Years later, reading Steven Greer's Disclosure Project book prompted him to test U.S. government system security.

The Decade-Long Extradition Battle

Following the hack, McKinnon faced intense legal repercussions. Arrested in his sleep by the UK's National High-Tech Crime Unit in 2002, he and family members were detained. Initially told he might face six months in the UK, the situation escalated when the U.S. sought extradition under a revised treaty, charging him with damage to every machine accessed and threatening up to 70 years in prison.

McKinnon described falling into despair, admitting, "I bought potassium chloride… and I was just going to swallow it and have a heart attack and die." In 2012, then-Home Secretary Theresa May blocked the extradition, citing "such a high risk of him ending his life." However, an active U.S. arrest warrant remains, placing McKinnon on the Interpol red list and preventing him from entering the United States.

Parallels and Ongoing Mysteries

The alleged sighting predates the 2004 encounter by U.S. Navy pilot David Fravor with a similar "tic tac" object off the coast of California, footage later acknowledged by the Pentagon as authentic. McKinnon noted the shape similarity between the objects.

He also described unexplained incidents, including his phone mysteriously hard-resetting during the interview and two perfectly circular holes appearing in his left heel after sharp pain. Today, living in the UK, McKinnon continues to explore anti-gravity and free-energy concepts, planning experiments in his garden shed with custom materials.

McKinnon's story highlights ongoing questions about government transparency, computer security vulnerabilities, and the boundaries of technological secrecy. His account adds to a growing narrative of unexplained aerial phenomena and the personal costs faced by those who challenge established systems.
