Northampton Woman's Rat Horror After Bin Collection Refusal
A woman from Northampton experienced a terrifying discovery in her garden shed after refuse collectors repeatedly declined to empty her household bins. Holly Laing, aged twenty-seven, and her partner Sam have been struggling with excessive waste accumulation due to what they describe as inadequate bin collection services in their local area.
Overflowing Waste Leads to Shed Storage
Holly Laing explained that the bin collection schedule in her neighbourhood operates on a fortnightly alternating system. General waste is collected one week, followed by recycling the next. However, she admitted that her household generates a substantial amount of rubbish, which frequently exceeds the capacity of their standard wheelie bin.
"We have too much rubbish to fit in our wheelie bins every week," Holly stated in a TikTok video documenting her ordeal. "Last week they didn't take our wheelie bins at all. Because of this we've been storing rubbish in our shed."

The Rat Discovery That Caused Panic

"This was the moment I found the rat," Holly recalled, describing how she dropped the bag and ran from the shed in shock. "I picked up the bag and saw it inside and it just made me feel really weird. I don't actually have a phobia of rats but for some reason I was really scared."
