Two Army instructors have been sentenced to prison and dismissed from military service following a court martial that heard they boasted about sexual relations with a teenage recruit.
Instructors Formed Separate Relationships with 17-Year-Old
Lance Sergeant Antony Pugh, aged 36, and Sergeant Connor Forgan, aged 32, each formed separate sexual relationships with the 17-year-old recruit, who cannot be named for legal reasons. The court martial in Bulford, Wiltshire, heard that both men bragged to each other about their encounters with the young trainee.
Abuse of Position at Infantry Training Centre
The offending took place at the infantry training centre in Catterick, North Yorkshire, where both Pugh and Forgan served as instructors. This represents a serious breach of trust and professional standards within the military training environment.
The case highlights concerns about safeguarding vulnerable recruits within military training establishments. Both men have now been removed from their positions and face significant prison sentences for their actions.
The Ministry of Defence has confirmed that both individuals have been dismissed from service following their convictions. This case serves as a stark reminder of the consequences for those who abuse positions of authority within the armed forces.
