Two individuals have been arrested after attempting to gain entry to HM Naval Base Clyde at Faslane, a highly sensitive military site located north-west of Glasgow in Scotland. The incident occurred late on Thursday afternoon, prompting a swift response from authorities.

A 34-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were detained by Police Scotland after they requested access to the base, which is home to the UK's Trident nuclear submarines and is strictly off-limits to the public. It is understood that the man is an Iranian national, while the woman's nationality remains unknown at this time.

The pair did not succeed in entering the base, but their request immediately raised alarms. According to reports, they were arrested after lingering nearby and exhibiting suspicious behaviour.
