Coronation Street star Tina O'Brien has openly shared the details of her personal beauty regime, admitting in a recent social media post that her approach is 'so embarrassingly low key that it's almost non-existent.' The actress, who is set to turn 43 this year, revealed her secrets in an Instagram video, surprising fans with her minimalist routine.
The Truth Behind Her Youthful Appearance
In the video, Tina addressed the common question she receives about her skincare habits, stating, 'I'm turning 43 this year and sometimes people say to me, "what beauty regimes are you using?" And the truth is, it's so embarrassingly low key that it's almost non-existent.' She added that despite working in television, she does not follow an elaborate multi-step routine, contrary to what many might expect.
Three Simple Pillars of Her Routine
Instead, the actress swears by three fundamental elements. 'I’ve never followed a regimented skincare routine,' she wrote in the caption. 'Instead I swear by three simple things: Eight hours sleep. Drinking lots of water. And the main one..collagen.' Tina emphasized her obsession with sleep, noting she requires a minimum of eight hours nightly, with a preference for ten hours ideally.
This revelation comes as she has been promoting collagen supplements on Instagram, but she made it clear that her youthful glow is primarily attributed to these basic lifestyle choices rather than complex products.
Personal Challenges and Recent Events
Tina has faced significant personal difficulties in recent months, which she has also shared with her followers. Late last year, she posted on Instagram about the heartbreaking death of her father, explaining her absence from social media. 'I've been a little quiet on here. My dad recently died. I haven't quite known how to put it into words,' she wrote, accompanied by the poignant Cat Stevens song 'Father And Son.' She expressed gratitude that he is no longer suffering and thanked supporters for their comfort during this tough period.
Relationship Updates and Family Life
In addition to this loss, Tina experienced a breakup with millionaire interior designer Adam Fadlé in November 2025. The couple had gone public with their romance earlier in the year, attending her Coronation Street co-star Jack P Shepherd's wedding in July. However, insiders reported that she ended the relationship after feeling it 'wasn't going anywhere' and not wanting to invest energy in something 'that was never going to last.' Friends claimed Adam was 'stunned' by her blunt assessment, as he believed the relationship had potential.
Tina made the split clear by removing all photos of the couple from her Instagram, including images from a romantic holiday to Greece in September. This breakup followed the collapse of her seven-year marriage to ex-husband Adam Crofts in Christmas 2024, with whom she shares an 11-year-old son, Beau.
As a mother, Tina also co-parents her 17-year-old daughter, Scarlett, with her former Coronation Street co-star Ryan Thomas. Scarlett is forging her own path in the entertainment industry, having appeared on BBC drama Waterloo Road in 2023 and building a social media presence that could earn her up to £2 million before turning 18. Despite her famous family connections, including uncles Adam Thomas and Love Island's Scott Thomas, her father Ryan has insisted she is 'not getting a free ride' in her budding acting career.
Reflecting on Her Corrie Journey
Tina joined Coronation Street in 1999 at the age of 16, playing the character Sarah Platt. Over the years, she has become a beloved figure on the soap, and her candid revelations about beauty and personal life have resonated with fans. Her emphasis on simplicity in skincare, coupled with her openness about life's challenges, highlights a relatable and down-to-earth persona beyond the television screen.
