Ed Sheeran was in celebratory mood after Ipswich Town were promoted back to the Premier League, joining the players in the dressing room for a karaoke rendition of his hit song 'The A Team'.
Promotion Secured
The victory at Portman Road on Saturday ensured Ipswich returned to the Premier League at the first time of asking, finishing ahead of Millwall and Middlesbrough on a tense final day. The 3-0 win over Queens Park Rangers sealed the deal, sparking wild celebrations both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
Dressing Room Celebrations
Sheeran, who owns a minority stake in the Tractor Boys and has sponsored the club's kit in recent years, was captured on video holding a pint of Guinness as he asked the Ipswich players to sing along with him. The players and manager Kieran McKenna all obliged, with several players filming the moment on their phones. The video, posted on the club's social media channels, shows Sheeran leading the squad in a heartfelt performance of the 2011 hit.
The pop star, a lifelong Ipswich fan, bought a minority stake in the club in 2024 and has been an active supporter ever since. His presence in the dressing room added to the jubilant atmosphere as the team celebrated their return to the top flight.
