Ed Sheeran to Pocket £12 Million as He Winds Down Touring Company
Ed Sheeran to Pocket £12 Million from Touring Firm Closure

Ed Sheeran is poised to bank a substantial £12 million following the closure of his long-standing touring company. The 35-year-old singer filed accounts at Companies House on April 7 to wind down Hayagota-tourboi Touring LLP, a firm that has generated over £400 million in revenue since its inception in 2012.

Financial Windfall from Touring Success

The most recently filed accounts for 2024 revealed a turnover of £40.3 million for the company. After settling all outstanding debts, the firm recorded a profit of £12.5 million, which will be disbursed to Ed Sheeran once the closure process is complete. This significant sum underscores the immense financial success of Sheeran's touring ventures over the past decade.

Continuing Touring with a New Entity

Despite shutting down this company, Ed Sheeran is not stepping away from the road. He launched his Loop Tour in January with performances in Australia and New Zealand and is currently on a brief hiatus before resuming the tour in South America in May. Last year, the hitmaker established a new firm named Gingerbread Touring, which is likely to serve as the vehicle for his future tour earnings, ensuring his musical endeavors remain financially structured.

Personal Health Update Amid Professional Moves

In a poignant personal revelation, Ed Sheeran recently shared that his wife, Cherry Seaborn, is 'on the other side' of her cancer journey. He reflected on the devastating moment in February 2022 when doctors discovered a tumour in Cherry's arm while she was six months pregnant with their second child, Jupiter.

That week was particularly harrowing, as it coincided with the sudden deaths of Sheeran's best friends, Jamal Edwards and Shane Warne, and the launch of a court case over his song Shape Of You, which he later won. After welcoming Jupiter, Cherry underwent surgery to remove the tumour, and Ed expressed relief, stating, 'Thankfully, touch wood, totally fine.'

Challenges and Recovery Details

When Cherry first sought medical help, a doctor ominously told her, 'this is really bad,' confirming she had cancer. She immediately called Ed, urging him to cancel all plans as they endured an agonizing month-long wait for a full report. Initially, no treatment plans were viable due to her pregnancy, but after a sequencing test, the tumour was found to be less severe than feared, allowing surgery post-birth.

In Ed's Disney+ documentary, Cherry described the relief: 'It was the most incredible news. I nearly threw up when the surgeon told us we could wait to the end of the pregnancy to get the tumour out.' Months after the surgery, a follow-up scan showed the tumour had not returned, with Cherry noting, 'That was amazing. It was massive for us.'

The couple, who married in 2019, are also parents to four-year-old Lyra, and they announced Jupiter's arrival in May 2022 via a sweet Instagram post. This blend of professional financial moves and personal health updates highlights a significant period in Sheeran's life, balancing career success with family resilience.
